Chappaz–Abbatucci Encounter at Pic au Beau-Rivage Palace
2026-05-07
As part of the Floralies of the Beau-Rivage Palace — a celebration of the plant world, nature’s cycles, and living ecosystems — two leading biodynamic estates come together for the very first time, united by a shared philosophy of wine and reverence for the land: Marie-Thérèse Chappaz (Valais) and Jean-Charles Abbatucci (Corsica).
Close friends of Chef Anne-Sophie Pic, both pioneers deeply rooted in their respective terroirs, cultivate their vineyards biodynamically, guided by lunar rhythms and committed to preserving indigenous grape varieties. Their approach reflects a profound respect for nature, combining organic practices with biodynamic preparations, allowing the natural environment to shape every decision.
In biodynamics, the lunar calendar guides both vineyard and cellar work, aligning each stage with nature’s energy. Days are classified as Flower, Leaf, Root, or Fruit.
Fittingly, May 7 is a Fruit Day — considered ideal for tasting, when wines tend to express themselves with greater generosity, openness, and aromatic intensity.
An evening of discovery and exchange, where wine becomes an extension of the plant world, the soil, and the season.
